Why choose Bastrop Little League?

Working with the City of Bastrop, the LCRA, the State of Texas, Little League International, and countless local volunteers this group has provided a not for profit community ball club since 1978. We focused on using the simple tool of letting kids play the game in a supervised environment where fun encourages learning of the game.  All children regardless of sports ability or knowledge get to play the game.

Will my child get to play?

Yes!  A cardinal rule of Little League is that every player on the team gets to play.

Where are the games played?

Most games are played locally in Bastrop on the city fields located at 2400 Hill Street.  Our nearest neighbors play out of Elgin and Smithville about 15 minutes away.  Regular season has no overnight trips to make and games are generally scheduled on weekends.  Depending on the number of players registered we may need to schedule week night games, but we always aim for weekends first.

What is the time commitment?

Practice schedules are up to our volunteer coaches, but typically one or two evenings a week for your child to work on skills.  One game a week gives your child the opportunity to play with their team against others in the community.  Practice and Games typically run for an hour and a half each.

What facilities are available?

Our complex has two softball fields and three baseball fields.  There is also one larger field called 50-70 where players can get used to the larger adult fields they'll see in high school and beyond.  Also at the complex are two concession stands with indoor restroom facilities.

What happens when the sun goes down?

Through our partnership with the City of Bastrop, LCRA, and Bluebonnet Electric the fields all have overhead lighting for evening games.

Are there tournament fees?

No.  All Little League tournaments work with the help and dedication of volunteers.  As a non-profit group donations are greatly appreciated, but we'll never charge a fee for your child to play in a Texas tournament.
